Hazrat Khwaja Syed Fakhruddin Gardezi is Hussaini Syed born in 544' Hijri at Gardez, which is a suburb of Kabul and not far from Qandhar. He was the spiritual brother of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hassan Chishty (R.A.). He expired on 26th of Rajjab 637-Hijri and was buried in the Astana-Sharif of the holy Saint. He was 93 Years old. The descendants of Hazrat Khwaja Syed Fakhruddin Gardezi are known as Syed~Zadgabn. The paternal genealogy of Hazrat Fakhruddin Gardezi goes back to Hazrat Imam Hussain (Alai His Salato Vassalam)* The present Khadims are the progeny of Hazrat Khwa ja Syed Fakhruddin Gardezi.
The Khadims are a community as a whole, their ancestor, Hazrat Khwaja Syed Fakhruddin Gurdezi (R.A). accompanied Khwaja Syed Moinuddin Hassan Chishty (R. A) to Ajmer. They served and ministered to him. The power and magnetism of the saint was so great that he attracted a large number of devotees, who remained dedicated and loyal & rendered religious services to him. The Khadims or Syedzadgan flourished in Ajmer, built their own houses near his Rowza Mubarak Dargah, in order to maintain their traditional devotion to and link with the great Sufi Saint. The Khadims' for senturies provided necessary comforts to the pilgrims, escottedahem for religious ceremonies and salutations to the Shririe and received presents, gifts for the Services rendered by theln. This 'Nazar 'was retained by the Khadim as his personal property, for the maintenances of his family and his own self.
From some other references this point is confirmed that the Head of the Khadims community bad been the disciple of Hazrat Khwaja Syed Usman Chishty Harooni, the Peer-o-Murshid of Hazrat Khwaja Syed Moinuddin Hassan Chishty It is a matter of pride and esteem to be a relation of Hazrat Khwaja Syed Gharib Nawaz R. A. The historical back ground of the community is a bonfire and legally well established fact.
Hazrat Khwaja Syed Fakhruddin Gurdezi, who had been born at Gurdez, remained the Chief attendant during the life time of Khwaja Sahib R. A. A. (peace to his soul). The Khadims, Syed zadgan community, have the honor to control, serve and maintain the shrine inside the Astana Sharif of the holy Sufi Saint. Hazrat Khwaja Syed Moinuddin Chishty R. A. The fact is known from the privileges, customs and tradition that prevail in the Rowan sharif, Apart from this, all the Chishty Sililas (performance) are based on traditions commemorated and introduced through the Khwaja's community, viz Khadims' on the whole, and the Head of Syed zadgan enjoyed the life time service under Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishty R. A.(peace to his soul). All the Syed zadgan are the successors and survivors of Hazrat Khwaja Syed Fakhruddin Gardezi Chishty R. A.
The Astana Sharif of Khwaja's burial place always remained under the custody and care of the said community . from the very beginning which proves that they are the custodians of the Shrine in the true sense of the word. All the religious ceremonies performed by them at the Shrine.
Hazrat Khwaja Syed Fakruddin Gardezi, the Chief of the community, played a pivotal role during Khwaja's absence from Ajmer and after his demise.

Hazrat Khwaja Syed Fakhruddin Gardez's mazar is inside the Aastana Alia in Tosha Khana.
The Mazar at of Hazrat Fakhruddin Gurdezi (R.A.) and his wife are located inside the Tosha Khana, adjacent to Begami Dalaan. Its door opens inside the Rauza-e-Munawwara. He is a close relative, Peer Bhai Mureed of Hazrat Khwaja Usman Haroon Chishty (R.A.) & Khas Khidmatguzar (R.A.). The members of his generations are called Khuddam Syed Zadgan, who have a right to perform rituals and to extend services inside the Gumbad Sharif. All the belongings of Gumbad Sharif and the holy Mazar are under their custody. They perform rituals like laying floral wreaths, presentation of sandal, opening and closing of Darbar, helping the pilgrims to offer Salaam ziaratekhwaja, removal and replacing of covers and clock-wreaths etc. The Urs of Khwaja Syed Fakhruddin Gurdezi (R.A.) is celebrated on 25th and 26th of Rajab with great fervor.
